Seaspan to hold a ceremony for the two new dual –fuelled/hybrid ferries built at Sedef Shipyard


Canada’s Seaspan Ferries Corporation held a ceremony on 9th of April, 2017 for its two Sedef Shipyard built Ro-Ro vessels.

The new state-of-the-art vessels and the most modern Ro-Ros of its class are the world’s first dual-fueled/hybrid (diesel, liquefied natural gas and battery) ferries. The 148.9 meter ferry, which can accommodate up to 59 trailers, has 1,034 meter vehicle line. These Ro-Ro ships have Azimuth type electric powered propulsion systems together with duel fueled Generators, capable of being operated with Diesel fuel for ignition and LNG for the main fuel, as well as hybrid option for using both Diesel and the LNG.
